Saturday Signings are informal, occurring during regular store hours.

By Jan 1st

Michael Stanley "Facets of Death"

Although we are not going to have an event for Michael Stanley's new book, he will be in signing them and is willing to inscribe as well. Please let me know if you would like a signed or inscribed copy by January 1st. David Bengu has always stood out from the crowd. His personality and his physique match his nickname, Kubu--Setswana for "hippopotamus"--a seemingly docile creature, but one of the deadliest in Africa. His keen mind and famous persistence have seen him rise in the Botswana CID. But how did he get his start?

FRI 1/10 7PM

Jess Lourey "Unspeakable Things"

Jess Lourey is launching a new novel set during the 1980s in small town Minnesota. Cassie McDowell’s life seems perfectly wholesome. She lives on a farm, loves school, and has a crush on the nicest boy in class. All that changes when someone comes hunting in Lilydale. One by one, local boys go missing. One by one, they return changed—violent, moody, and withdrawn. Then Cassie’s own sister undergoes the dark change. If she is to survive, Cassie must find her way in an adult world where every sin is justified, and only the truth is unforgivable.

This event is a launch party: there will be wine, cake, a chance to win an 80's kit, and if all that wasn't exciting enough, the first 10 people in the door will get free 80's themed gift bags! Author Jess Lourey will be interviewed by Kate Malmon and then we'll open up to an audience Q&A. This is a seated event. Doors open at 6:30.

SAT 1/18 4PM

Nick Petrie "The Wild One"

Nick Petrie will be interviewed by our very own William Kent Krueger about his latest book in the Peter Ash series. Losing ground in his fight against post-traumatic claustrophobia, war veteran Peter Ash has no intention of getting on an airplane—until a grieving woman asks Peter to find her eight-year-old grandson. The woman’s daughter has been murdered. Erik, the dead daughter’s husband, is the sole suspect, and he has taken his young son and fled to Iceland for the protection of Erik’s lawless family. This is a seated event that starts at 4:00.

WED 1/22 5PM

Kwei Quartey "The Missing American"

Kwei Quartey will be discussion his first novel in a new series. When her dreams of rising through the Accra police ranks like her late father crash around her, 26-year-old Emma Djan is unsure what will become of her career. Through a sympathetic former colleague, Emma gets an interview with a private detective agency that takes on cases of missing persons, theft, and infidelity. It’s not the future she imagined, but it’s her best option. This is a seated event.

SAT 2/1/20 11-1PM

Brian Freeman "Thief River Falls"

Brian will be in signing copies of his latest stand alone novel. A nameless runaway boy shows up at author Lisa Power's door with a terrifying story: he’s just escaped death after witnessing a brutal murder—a crime the police want to cover up. Obsessed with the boy’s safety, Lisa resolves to expose this crime, but powerful men in Thief River Falls are desperate to get the boy back, and now they want her too.

SAT 3/7 12-2PM

Laura Childs "Lavender Blue Murder"

Laura will be in signing her 21st Tea Shop Mystery! There will be tea, sandwiches and other treats. Tea maven Theodosia Browning and her tea sommelier Drayton Conneley are guests at a bird hunt styled in the precise manner of an English shooting party. After gunshots explode too close, Theodosia wanders into the neighbor’s lavender field where she discovers their host, Reginald Doyle, bleeding to death.

Tim Garvin "A Dredging in Swann"

Tim Garvin will be in discussing his debut book. Seb Creek, a sheriff's detective, gets involved in two investigations and fights through lies, secrets, and murder to find the killer. Doors open at 6:30.
